You just have to love the T-shirt/bumper sticker culture. AFTER you make your donation to hurricane relief, you can go to this site and order your "George Bush Doesn't Care About Black People" T-shirt. Think of it as your dessert.

It should read... "No U.S. president ever cared about black people"... except maybe Kennedy, and that's a huge maybe...

Thanks to Kanye.
Here's some information to support his stance.
In Farenheit 911, there's a segment where George W. Bush stands before an elite crowd at some fancy dinner fund-raiser [no doubt] in a tuxedo and states, " Some call you the elite..I call you my base." Now that's the tee-shirt I want to see being worn across the country.

The T-shirt is another hate building tool, not at all honest as it claims something that is not truth. This Kanye gangsta, should look inward which would be territory he knows and then make a t-shirt about that!Rap this Kanye :)

Great t-shirt.

Kanye is becoming one of my faves now because of his recent stands on issues.

Also been enjoying your commentaries on Katrina aftermath as well.

How is it that a t-shirt bearing a direct quote straight from the horses mouth is a hate building tool. The statement is absolutely true. You can water it down in your own mind if you chose. Individual english words grouped together in a structured sentence have a specific meaning. The man said what he meant.
"Some call you the elite, I call you my base." What Kanye stated definitely has merit.

Well if the horse that owns the mouth is that entertainer Kanye, then I guess the quote would be correct.( If it came from his mouth) It did not come from the president that is for sure. And that could make it a statement of untruth, if it implys that he said or feels that way. Mind you I did not care for t-shirts that say anything negative, that is what blogs are for, the personalized t-shirts of the computer generation. Right now I am watching to see how these suffering people/cities are cared for long term, now that will be interesting indeed.Inspite of my lack of info on the entertainer I think we all want the same thing, equal rights,dignity... there is still a long road ahead but it has come a long way and it will continue, there is no other choice.
Peace

Let me clarify this the T-Shirt says "George Bush Doesn't Care About Black People" that is what I am against period. The quote about the elite, that can be interperted how ever one chooses. A sound bite,a quote, leave out the meat that tells the story. And I would not use that "movie makers" work (Farenheit 911),for my research , it is chock full of bits and bites by person with his own agenda and a need for money at any price.

For the very first time in my life, I am thinking of buying, not one, but several rap CDs, of Kanye West.

Whatever the ImperfectVessels of this world think, Kanye spoke a truth that many, many of us don't dare say to a racially mixed audience.

ImperfectVessel,
The horse's mouth I spoke of was that of George W. Bush. He said it. Not a stand in. Not an actor that looked like him. George W. Bush himself said, " Some call you the elite, I call you my base."
Don't try to villify Michael Moore because he included that footage. Sound bite or not...there are no words you could place before that statement nor after that statement that would take away it's true meaning. The man said what he meant and his actions back it up.
