I am not fishing for compliments here.. really. I am just thinking of how many folks wrote on thier web sites that they had been intending to hear Octavia Butler read, but figured they'd just catch her the next time. It turns out that there was no next time. So I challenge everyone to figure out a way to show some love to a favorite author.. TODAY. You can get a attend a reading, send an email/letter, or even get a tatoo. But let's all do something, TODAY.

So true! I am among those looking forward to an Octavia Butler reading scheduled in Pasadena on March 17. Now, there is no next time.

I come here all the time, but have never commented. I read "The Untelling" last year and really enjoyed it. I am now looking to get my hands on a copy of "Leaving Atlanta."

(and to any of her students: I am willing to pay top dollar for a bootleg VHS of DVD copy of one of her lectures!!!) LOL!!!

Oh yea, T... quite a few folks ran out and ordered your works after reading my personal "Shrine to Tayari" at my blog...They'd never heard of you (OH, THE HORROR!!) (you best give a sista a cut of them royalties... don't let me come looking for you!)
