Book Tour

I've posted some snapshots from my paperback launch party for The Untelling! If you are feeling sad because you couldn't make it, send me an email and I'll send you a few of the party-favor buttons. (I can send enough for you, your family, your bookclub..) And if you like the pictures, email the photagrapher, Jati Lindsay, and let him know. And if you're in D.C., keep him in mind when you need someone to shoot your events.

*LadyLee knocking her chair backwards in her cubicle as she jumps up and down in front of her computer*
Ooooh weeee, she posted a picture of the shoes!!! Go gurl!!! Go gurl!!
And they are FIERCE as to be expected...You seem to always find shoes that nobody else is wearing!!
And what's up with the orange sweater? There's a story behind that...(I bet that pink fur coat has a story of its own too! LOL!). Care to share with me, and your lurking audience???
But look here, holla at your girl...
You know I, LadyLee, am your #1 fan...
Send me some of those buttons... and be sure to get a fine black Sharpie and sign them all. I may need to sell a few of those on eBay in the future... they might be worth a little change...
You know, like after you make your Oprah book club debut, or when you become the world famous great American writer I know you're gonna someday be!! (Cause you know that's coming, right?!!!)
Don't ignore me... I will BOMBARD and STALK you with a gazillion e-mails! LOL!!
Glad you had fun! Looks like you had a nice turnout :)
Next time, be the true ATLien you are and have a bash down here in Atlanta!!!

Tayari, I finished the book in 2 days (got it monday night - done by wednesday - which was a feat cuz a sista got a job. I loved it - it is one of my favorites of all time. My boyfriend and son (who were both at your signing) had me reading it outloud (kindergarten style) cuz they were so enamored with the way you read. My boyfriend was finishing the painting of the bathroom while I read. He was suppose to get to a good stopping point and then finish up another day - but with the aid of your book homeboy finished it that night. When I stopped reading to say something real quick - my son said - Ma, don't talk - just read. Girl, you had us laughing out loud - even when he was dripping paint on the floor - your story made me not care. I was telling him about how funny the Crack Killed Applejack passage was to me because I wasn't expecting it - and we got all side tracked trying to explain to my 13 year old son why that was funny and what 911 is a Joke was. I was reminded to expose him to more new things (music not crack). But we had a real family moment with your book. I think I'll start reading it to my son as a bedtime story (that is appropriate right? he's not too old for bedtime stories is he? :) )
Was gonna shoot you an email - telling you how much I enjoyed The Untelling - but since I'm logged in I decided to just post it here.
