Last week, I called myself being helpful by posting the recipe for Red Velvet Cake. Ladylee, then had the nerve to suggest that I was half-stepping because I failed to include pictures. Always one to lead by example, she took me by the hand and showed me her gumbo post.

Okay. I can take a hint. I made a Red Velvet Cake for Christmas and here are the pics I took along the way. And, as a bonus, I was able to watch a friend make Paella! (Warning, there aren't too many pictures as I was getting on his nerves and he threw me out of the kitchen.)

HA HA!! Now that's what I'm talkin' about!! You're doing the thing over here in LURK CITY! Really though!

PICTURES! I love it!!

And look how red that cake is!! Goodness gracious, Celie!! That looks like more than a bottle and a half of food coloring. You must've bust open a gallon of red food coloring for that cake!

And so sophisticated-like, with the cake resting lovingly on a cake plate, the wine, the red tablecloth, and wine glasses... Nothing like my fam- we throw that cake on a paper plate, bring out the plastic pitcher of sweet tea and tumblers, and keep it moving!! (I can tell that you are NOT in SWATS, and haven't lived here in eons. LOL!)

I want to make it, but, um, could you please give me the recipe for one slice only, please...

That's all I want-one slice.

And you're not off the hook, Celie... you better stop back by the gumbo post and explain that "gumbo in a bag" comment... That better not had been some wierd simile or metaphorical statement, because you know how slow I am...

I'm off all week, and I know you didn't leave the explanation in my work email (did you??)... hit up my comment section, because we are all a bit, uh... curious!!
