  • Michael Bourett says that if you are in a public bathroom and see a literary agent, please do not slide your manuscript into his stall!

  • Nunez alert! Sigrid reads from The Last of Her Kind. (You know how I feel about that book!)

  • The Original Old Girl had a birthday last week. Growth is good, but growth is hard. She's doing her morning pages.

  • ATLiens, there are a lot of writers coming to town for the AWP conference. (Feb 28-March 1) Most of the daytime events are for conference participants only, but the headline readings at night are open to the public.

  • We're in shouting distance of the deadline for the Cave Canem poetry prize. Many up and coming African American poets have gotten their start here!

  • If you're interested in hip-hop-- notice I say interested, not just if you like it-- Jelani Cobb's new book, Til The Break of Dawn: A Freestyle on the Hip Hop Aesthetic, is out. PW gave it a star!
