  • The NYT has a big spread on Natasha Trethewey! Again, the NYT is catching on to things those of us in this community have known all along. (thx, ms.tjc for the link!)
  • Here's a great NPR segment on Eva Rutland. She's 90 years old, blind, and still writing. And, FYI, she is a Spelman woman!

    It's wonderful to see such a talented poet receive the attention she so richly deserves. My husband and I went to Natasha's reading at Emory last week. Everyone in attendance was clearly captivated by the beauty and poignancy of her writing and her presentation - the attentive silence as she read was extraordinary.

    I saw NT read at NC State here in Raleigh a month-or-so ago, and the reception was similar. She's awesome.
