Natasha Trethewey ReadsOur very own Natasha Trethewey is at Harvard today to celebrate the inaugration of Drew Faust, the first woman president of that institution. Natasha will be introducing Toni Morrison at the event, for which she has composed a poem. The event will be webcast. It starts at 2pm, but I have been told that Natasha and Lady T will be on around four. (EST)

Wow! Congratulations, Natasha! I have been so happy to read about Natasha's many university appearances here in the Atlanta area (my husband and I saw her at Clark Atlanta a few weeks ago - wonderful as always!), but to compose and present a poem at the installation of Harvard's first woman president has got to be a thrill. And with Toni Morrison! I will admit to having a few less-than-positive feelings about Harvard, but this sounds like the winds of change may be sweeping across the Charles River at last!
