Well, this is officially half-way through my residency at Blue Mountain Center. Two weeks down, two to go. I am happy to report that I am making some good progress here on my novel. I am trying to figure out the best way to report. There is always word count, but that doesn't really get to the heart of the effort. But I guess we have to work with what can be measured. So here goes:

Pages: 53
Words: 13,571

Not bad at all.

congrats on making such excellent progress! i just finished reading your interview in the new issue of *torch,* including the excerpt from this new book (which i believe is what you read at awp in atlanta, and it was lovely to see it on the page for myself), and i am *ready* for this novel to be in my hands! so, chop-chop! get it done and get it out. no pressure... : )
